Well the trip is upon us. Thanks a bunch to those that have donated. Wish me luck. Throw in some support for my Savannah race.
Good night,

This weekend ... is ... almost .... there

Holy crap! The weekend is approaching, and the race is nearly here. Am I ready for the race? Will I be able to keep up? How bad of a cramp will I get? Did I raise enough money?
As far as I know, 5AM on Friday all of us from KPMG Atlanta are getting in a van and driving to Texas to make it to the dinner at 7PM central time.
I have my ipod loaded, my tools gathered, my water and nutrition supplies compiled, and a few good books picked out to read on the way there and on the way back.
If all else fails, I'll have the force on my side. ;)
Savanah MS Race fund raiser is a go!

I am on my way to raise $250 for the Savannah race. So far over 85 bucks have been raised. First and foremost, thank you guys so much for your donations. I really appreciate it. There is still 165 to go, so please if you can spare a dollar hit the donate link above....
Donations - How it all went down...
Monday, March 17, 2008
Wow guys. Simply wow. As I stated the other day I managed to raise more than enough for my biking efforts. I made a little chart this morning to show what happened.
First off, this chart shows donations across the last three months.
Now the next one shows the same as compared to the total donations:
I met my goal yesterday and exceeded it by $20. Therefore I raised 103.64%. w00t!
Now its all about that Savannah ride. So far I have raised more than 60 bucks. That means there is $190 to go. The race is not until May, so I think I will be fine.
Again, thank you guys so much on all of your help. I really appreciate it.
PS: Those that donated via paypal, your donations is going to go to the Savannah ride.
Getting back into it.

Nearly nine weeks after my shoulder dislocation I got back on my bike. While I was in sling mode I rode the stationary bike nearly every day. Today, I went to the silver comet and did 40 miles. It was rough as it the wind chill made it fee like it was 50 degrees outside, not 65. Anyway, I did the first 20 miles in about hour twenty, which is not bad considering that I did not draft off of anyone. The way back was much longer as I did it in over hour thirty. My legs were getting pretty tired and I did not do anything in order to prevent cramps. Next time I know to drink more water, get more carbs and protein and not get Charlie horsed again.
w00t!

Thanks to all the people that I came across deviantART, I met the fund raising goal. Thanks so much for everything guys!
Now I'm off to raise $250 for the Savannah MS 150 race!
$95 bucks to go!
Thursday, March 13, 2008
There is less than one month until the race. I think I'm ready physically but financially I'm not all there. I thought that my friends would be willing to spare five bucks but I guess with the economy and such people are afraid to let go of their Washington's.
Weight, speed, and other homogeneous polynomial things...

I have to say that I am really grateful for dislocating my shoulder again. It really made me go out there in the gym and p-p-p-push it to the limit on the stationary bike. Thanks to the cardio overload I was able to drop a few pounds and somehow become more aerodynamic!
Anyway, were getting here to the final stretch. The bike race is in less than 40 days. The weather is getting better. I'm getting over my cold and enjoying the pollen once again. This means I can finally get back to riding outside. I had my bike tuned and all that I need to do now is grease my shoes so that I can clip out like Speedy Gonzales.
I hope that by next weekend I can start riding with the team during the Sat/Sun rides. If that fails I will try to do a 75 mile run on Silver Comet. That place is always fun. However, I don't think I'm going to go back to Stone Mountain. Don't want to jinx the shoulder once again.
Like EMPD I'm back in Business!

My doctors, and I mean that in the plural as I have two of them for my shoulder, said I should go back to resuming my normal workout and biking habits. That means I'm going back to weight lifting. w00t! And biking, w00t x2!!
Now what sucks here is that I have gotten sick so I really cannot train or do anything fun outside until this cold goes away. Hopefully, this will be sometime soon, preferably tomorrow. It's kinda weird that this is my second time getting sick this year. I guess this is a pollen agitated sickness. Those darn trees!
Anyway, my plan is to continue on with my regular boxing and cycling work outs and add in some shoulder exercises to make sure my arm holds during the race.
A needed update...
Tuesday, February 26, 2008
What a month so far. I got distracted by non internet things and totally forgot that I have this blog going on. Sorry.
Anyway, I have been putting about 7-12 miles on the bike every other day at the gym. Its not much, but its all I can do given my shoulder's situation. Speaking of which, my shoulder is getting better. I have an appointment with the doc on the 3rd and hopefully he will approve some much needed weight lifting.
I took my BMX around the block the other day and I can easily bike it without any pain or soreness. Awesome! I'm taking my road bike to get tuned up this weekend so that it can be BP MS 150 ready.
I'm also $100 short of meeting my goal. For some reason everyone stopped supporting me. What gives guys? Donate for a good cause and to help me ride!
Seventy Five & Other Stuff
Tuesday, February 5, 2008
Hey everyone. I'm happy to report that I'm 75% there with my fund raising for the race. Thank you on all of your support.
In other news, my shoulder is in less pain. I am more active and am able to use my arm. I have a MRI session this weekend and most likely I will need surgery. Still my plan is to recover, race, get surgery, and then be miserable for a month.
Dislocated shoulders are fun!
Tuesday, January 29, 2008
Guess what happened to me? I fell and dislocated my shoulder. Again!
While riding with my friend we slowed down and I could not clip out fast enough as I lost momentum. I tipped, fell and landed straight on my arm. Popped my shoulder straight out.
At the hospital they pumped me full of morphine and some other drugs. Morphine is not fun. Not fun at all. Anyway, they popped the arm back in, gave me a crappy brace and told me to get out. Thank you DeKalb Medical for being so friendly.
My shoulder is screwed up, but it is not as bad as it was in 2006 when I first dislocated it. I guess since it popped out to the front, rather than the bottom, it screwed up different tendons and muscles. Compared to last time, I have more motion and less pain with it. Maybe I'm used to it, maybe my muscles are stronger given that I have straightened my shoulder muscles. Anyway, I'm optimistic towards the recovery.
There are less than 11 weeks to the BP MS 150 Race. Should I be good to ride? Heck yeah!
When I dislocated my shoulder in September of 2006, it didn't take too long to get back to it.
9/22 - dislocated it
9/29 - rode on a BMX for a few feet
10/07 - back on the trampoline practicing BMX moves
10/20 - I was able to extend my arm all the way out
11/02 - back riding
So let’s set some dates here... given that I dislocated my shoulder on 1/27 I should be back on the bike on 3/10 ish? That shouldn't be bad. In the mean time I could spend some time with the stationary bike and work on my endurance.
Halfway there!
Sunday, January 20, 2008
I'm happy to report that I am more than half way to meeting my donation requirement. Thanks a bunch to everyone who decided to help me out!
35.45% there, only 64.55% to go!
Friday, January 18, 2008
Oh my, in matter of half a month I'm 35% on the way to meeting my donation goal. Thanks a bunch on the support guys, I really appreciate it!
Training w00t!

I'm on the metaphorical road to success. I have increased my gym presence significantly. I guess I have become one of the regulars as I see Baby-Eater (he looks like he is running on steroids), General Lee (Old guy that looks like General Lee), Spider Legs (All the veins in his legs look like a spiderweb) and Shorty (Small guy that can lift insane weights) nearly every time I'm there. Either that, or they live inside LA Fitness. I'm exited that with the next work engagement I'll be right across the street from Fitness 19 which was my summer gym. I guess getting a second gym membership because of convenience might be worthwhile.
22.7% There!
Friday, January 4, 2008
Thanks to two super awesome KPMGers I am 22.7% to getting $550! Thanks so much guys. I really appreciate it!
99 More Days!
Thursday, January 3, 2008
Holy macaroni Batman, there are only 99 days left until the race!
Bodyfat and fries!
Wednesday, December 26, 2007
The web define body fat as a loose connective tissue whose role is to store energy. My current body fat percentage is 18.7% which puts me in the average category. My goal is to have it to 12% by the time I'm 25. I want to reduce this number to at least 16% before the race starts. I am using the Accu-Measure Calipers to track my progress. Given my new diet, I'm giving up French fries. After all McDonald's large fries have 30g of fat!
Post numero uno!
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
Hi all. My name is Z. I want to get my body in a better shape. I thought that a blog could be motivational even if no one reads it.
My hope is to post a few times a week with my progress and get fitter, happier and more productive. In each post I will try to count the calories of my intake, workouts I did, stats of all kinds, and some other stuff I cannot think of right now. In between these posts I will try to put random info to encourage myself to be a go getter and attain my goal.
Tomorrow is a new day, and so I shall start.
